giant

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Numbers 13:33

When the Israelites finally made it through the desert and to the promised land, they found the land inhabited by giants. Despite the fact that they’d seen God’s providence through the plagues on Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, and manna falling from heaven, they chose to focus on the problem rather than trusting a God that had proved himself over and over.

When the Israelites failed to go directly into the promised land, they missed their chance for a wonderful blessing and were cursed to wander in the desert for forty years. When they attempted to take the land in their own strength, they failed miserably.

It’s natural to be afraid when the circumstances are overwhelming, but if you have had specific instructions from God to do a specific task, you have to persevere through it. Focusing on the problem and allowing fear to keep you from obeying is negative faith. While God may be tolerant of that in a new Christian, someone who has seen God’s hand time after time, is expected to put their trust in him rather than fearing the obstacle.

Come back every Sunday for a new Prepper Bible Study! The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed day and happy prepping!
