All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Verse 16 of today’s study is one of those refrigerator-magnet verses. Its a verse that anyone who has been reading for any length of time will probably have memorized. It is the Bible’s witness to itself that the words contained therein are directly from God. And since there is no book with a higher authority, we must accept that witness.

But, have you ever really contemplated the verse following it? That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. At least in the KJV, it’s not even a new sentence. It’s separated only by a semicolon, as if it is part of the same thought. The implications are serious. According to this verse, you cannot be thoroughly furnished unto all good works without the Bible.

Notice that it does not say every Sunday morning sermon is inspired by God. It does not say every televangelist is inspired by God. It doesn’t even say that every Prepper Recon Sunday Bible Study is inspired by God. It is the Bible, and the Bible alone that is inspired by the Creator Himself. If you want to be a man or woman of God, if you want to be thoroughly furnished unto all good works that you may live a life pleasing to the One who sacrificed everything that you might live, if you want to be inspired by God, you are going to have to read the Bible for yourself. Set aside a little time every day to read those divinely inspired words. You won’t believe the difference it will make.

Jesus said, “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war, or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed day and happy prepping!
