Weapons

And you looked in that day to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest; you saw that the City of David had many breaches in its defenses; you stored up water in the Lower Pool. You counted the buildings in Jerusalem and tore down houses to strengthen the wall. You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it.
Isaiah 22:8-11
Weapons? Check. Strengthening the wall? Check. Storing water? Check. Wow, at first glance, today’s text looks like it contains a pretty good preparedness plan. But these preppers in ancient Israel skipped the most important prep of all, looking to the God who made everything. God isn’t faulting them for exercising prudence, but the reason Israel was in the position of needing to prepare in the first place was because they had forsaken God. To defend against the threats on the horizon, they continued to look to the flesh for solutions. Your first prep should always be getting right with God. Once that’s settled, you can ask him for direction, and he’ll guide you in your survival planning process.

Come back every Sunday for a new Prepper Bible Study! The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed day and happy prepping!
