“I will turn my hand against you; I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities.  I will restore your judges as in days of old, your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City.”  Zion will be redeemed with justice, her penitent ones with righteousness.  But rebels and sinners will both be broken, and those who forsakethe LORD will perish.”

Isaiah 1:25-28

Today’ Bible verse will be the last in a series of verses from Isaiah 1. In Isaiah 1, God is calling Israel to account for their sins in forsaking him. Through the prophet Isaiah, He points out what they have done and what the effects and consequences are. Check out the previous week’s posts to follow this study from the beginning.

This section of scripture talks about God’s consistent method of tearing down a rotten and depraved system and rebuilding a new purified system. There are many examples of this process in the Bible and in the lives of God’s people. I went through this process personally. With out going into a lot of detail, I can tell you it was quite an experience. God brought me out of a heavy addiction to alcohol and prescription medication. It wasn’t easy, but knowing that God was carrying me, made it bearable. All through the process, I could see God’s hand at work. When I look back on that period of my life, I’m very thankful that God brought me through it. Where would I be now if he hadn’t come to rescue me?

The point is, I could have avoided all of the pain by being faithful to God in the first place and staying away from that lifestyle. But thank God, he is faithful even when we aren’t.

What does all of this mean for our country? Is God getting ready to tear down the corrupt system in DC and “restore our judges as in days of old?” Today’s section of the Bible states that God will purge away our dross. If you remember our recent study from Isaiah 1:22, you’ll recall that our silver has literally become dross. Is it possible that God is going to get rid of our corrupt monetary system which our government uses to steal wealth through the stealth tax of inflation?

Or, could the prophecy in this verse be speaking to the final Kingdom of Glory? I don’t claim to know the answer to that. The one thing the verse is very clear on is that the final outcome for the penitent ones is very different than that of the rebels and sinners who persist in forsaking the Lord.

If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. Come back every Sunday for a new Prepper Bible Study! The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed day and happy prepping!
