“Your rulers are rebels, companions of thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them.”

Today’s Bible verse will be the third in a series of verses from Isaiah 1. In Isaiah 1, God is calling Israel to account for their sins in forsaking him. Through the prophet Isaiah, He points out what they have done and what the effects and consequences are. Check out the previous week’s posts to follow this study from the beginning.

WOW! Let’s start at the beginning. “Your rulers are rebels.” We know that Romans 13 says that everyone must submit to the governing authorities. America was established as a constitutional republic to be governed by we the people. So the two governing authorities are we the people and the Constitution. you have to look very hard to find a recent president, senator, congressman or Supreme Court justice that will obey either one of the governing authorities. When you do finally find one like Ron Paul who stood up for the Constitution for his entire career, you’ll find that he was unable to achieve any legislative victories because he was unwilling to compromise and play ball with the other members of our Federal government. What he was able to do is spark a fire of freedom in the hearts and minds of patriots around the country. It is our job to keep the flame of freedom burning and resist the efforts of the neo-cons, RINO’s and liberals from snuffing it out.

“Companions of thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts.” Goldman Sachs was a top donor for Obama and Romney in the 2012 campaigns. Of course Goldman Sachs was the Wall Street firm who was caught red handed in emails bragging about how they sold sub-prime CDOs to investors as AAA rated debt instruments while they made a king’s ransom shorting those very same CDOs which they knew to be absolute garbage. That constitutes insider trading and securities fraud. But of course Goldman Sachs , CEO Loyd Blankfein and VP Heidi Cruz (Yes, Ted Cruz’s wife is a Goldman Sachs VP) continue to operate a criminal organization with impunity. If you’re a 24 fan, you’ll note that there is always a mole. Volumes could be written about the connections between politicians and white collar criminals, but I’ll keep it short.

“They do not defend the cause of the fatherless” Of course we’ve mentioned several times in previous posts how Skull and Bonesman George W Bush had carte blanche to write any law he wanted with a Republican controlled House and Senate from 2003 to 2007 yet neglected to make any substantive moves to end the travesty of abortion. He and many like him who claim to be pro-life have failed  to defend  the cause of the fatherless children who are not wanted by either parent.
