Sunday Prepper Bible Study-Standing Up To Oppression- Exodus 4

When God first instructs Moses to go to Pharaoh to demand that he releases the Israelites from oppression, Moses did not want the job. He  looked for several excuses to explain why he wasn’t the man for the job. In Exodus 4:1 he says “What if they do not believe me or listen to me?”. God quickly armed Moses with the staff that turns into a snake and the ability to create and cure leprosy.

Later, in verse 10 , Moses says “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” God tells him that he will send his cousin Arron to speak for him and Moses finally relents and decides to follow God’s command to go to the tyrant and say “Let my people go!”

It is no small task to stand up to the tyrants when they seem to have all the power in the world. It is important to remember that there is One more powerful than the tyrant. We must look to Him for the courage to overcome. Just as Moses was afraid at first, it is normal to be intimidated into staying silent. That  has been the biggest weapon of every tyrant and school yard bully since the beginning of time. It is when we stand up and speak out that bullies and tyrants know that we will not be intimidated into submission.

Being afraid is not what makes a person a coward. We all fear the retribution of a tyrannical government that sees those who speak against the regime as enemies. It is whether or not you allow that fear to keep you  from doing your duty as a citizen that determines if you are courageous or a coward. If we will all trust God and stand up to the tyrant together, we will be a force too great to stop.

If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed week and happy prepping!
