Prepper Recon

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:2

The more time you spend with your mind on the things of this world, the more you will become conformed to its ways. The entertainment industry banks on it. The more you listen to movies and television shows that use God’s name in vain, drop F bombs and have people sleeping around, the more acceptable it seems to live that type of lifestyle. It’s the everybody-else-is-doing-it mentality. I’ve heard fellow Christians say,”I hear that language all day at work anyway.”  Great, now go home and listen to it for another four hours on television and you’ll be perfectly conformed to the ways of this world. The only difference anyone will ever see is that you don’t go fishing on Sunday.

Fortunately, the reverse is also true. If you continually put your mind on the things of God, your mind will be transformed. Even if you have to listen to filthy language all day at work, you can come home, put on some worship music and wash your mind with praise, or listen to a good Bible study and cleanse it with God’s Holy Word. There’s nothing better!

You can watch good programs like John Haller’s weekly prophecy update or listen to biblical news programs like TruNews. All of these are outlets that provide healthy alternatives to the monogramming and conditioning that you get when you watch secular movies and television, but nothing will transform your spirit or renew your mind like sitting down to study God’s Word for yourself.

Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die!
