Gear Review- Head For the Hills Bug-Out Bag
I just received my Head For The Hills bug-out bag from Survival Bags Inc. Yes, they’re our newest sponsor, but I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I don’t know how they’re making money off of this unit. This Bag which sells for $59.95 is chock full of survival essentials you need to stay alive. This has 12 units of water, 2 emergency food bars, 2400 calories each, a head lamp, toilet paper, magnesium fire starter, para-cord, poncho, 3 N95 face masks, survival blanket, first aid kit with a whistle, toothpaste, toothbrush and a very nice Mossy Oak bag.
This covers all the survival basics. If you are a new prepper and don’t have much money to get started, this is the way to go. Even if you have the Cadillac bug-out bag, the Head For The Hills bag is perfect to keep in your car. It also makes a great Christmas gift for family members that haven’t gotten around to putting together a bag yet.
Even if you get it with the intentions of upgrading your gear later as you go, several components of this bag will always be with you. The toilet paper is off the roll, so it conserves space. The poncho, emergency blanket and food bars are also big space savers.
The para-cord looks to be 550 lb test, so that can’t really be upgraded. Likewise, the magnesium fire starter is top quality and is always going to be an essential survival tool.
The bag itself is well-made with a large main pocket, medium front pocket and two zippered small side pockets. I don’t think you could put this bag together yourself for under $60, so why spend the time.
Judging from the value of this bag, I’d guess that all of the pre-packed bug-out bags from Survival Bags Inc are going to be great deals.
God bless and happy prepping!
