Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Have you ever wished God would strip people of their right to publicly identify themselves as Christians if they acted like idiots? I sure have. And never more so than after hearing about Westboro Baptist’s protests at the Orlando Victims’ funerals.
Yes, homosexuality is wrong, as evidenced in today’s Bible verse. But despite the message on the shirts of Westboro’s “evangelists,” God does not hate fags. God hates the sin and loves the sinner as evidenced by Romans 5:8 which says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” That goes for everyone on the list in today’s verse; fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners.
And yes, the Bible is clear that NO ONE on that list will inherit the kingdom of God. The good news is, if we repent, and turn away from those sins we can inherit the kingdom of God! Isn’t that the message we should be sharing instead of the false message of hate? Westboro Baptist is alienating people further away from God, which is exactly the opposite of what Christ’s mission was. Just as the apostate pastors of the modern emergent church keep sinners from salvation by selling them a false hope of heaven without repentance, Westboro ensures their damnation by telling them that God hates them. Both the emergent church and Westboro Baptist should beware come judgement day. You may be in for quite a surprise.
As for Westboro attendees, remember, today’s verse says, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” There is no sin so dark that the blood of Christ cannot atone when a sinner calls out in repentance.
When we read over that list, fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners, it’s hard to imagine that anyone reading this post hasn’t made the cut at least once. If you are a man and you think you’re home free, I might remind you that Jesus said that if you even look at a woman lustfully, you’re guilty of adultery.
So does that mean we should roll over and let the culture tell us that men can use the same bathroom as our daughters and our wives? Are we to acquiesce and quit preaching the truth so not to hurt anyone’s feelings? Should we demand that florists, bakers, judges, and photographers participate in homosexual weddings and boycott business that don’t offer sensitivity courses and benefits for same sex couples? No! No! No! We stand up! We stand firm! We hold the line to preserve our faith and our freedom, to protect our wives and our daughters, and to protect our children from satanic philosophies. But there is a right way and a wrong way. Westboro’s way is the wrong way and they’ll have to answer for it. Our way is the right way, for our way is to speak the truth in love.
Come back every Sunday for a new Prepper Bible Study! The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.
Have a blessed day and happy prepping!
