parade

“The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.” Isaiah 3:9

If you happened to watch the Rose Bowl Parade this year you actually saw two sodomites get married in the parade. I found today’s verse, which was written in the 8th Century BC, to be so contemporary with modern headlines. This may be the first time you have ever read anything on Prepper Recon concerning gay marriage, and it may be the last.

Why is that? Well, I suppose there are two reasons. The first reason is that politically, I think the legality of gay marriage is the wrong conversation. The state has no business being involved in marriage whatsoever. Marriage is between you, your spouse and God. We are already seeing the consequences of making an idol out of the state and asking for their blessing when it comes to marriage. Now that we have put this corrupt government in the place of God, we are seeing Christians being sued when they refuse to make a wedding cake or photograph gay weddings. Whether or not gays can get married is the wrong conversation. We need to get government out of marriage, out of our schools, out of telling us what we can and can’t do, out of welfare, out of the UN, out of foreign aid, and every other area that they are not expressly given authority over by the US Constitution. The areas the government is supposed to be concerning themselves with are defending our borders, which they are not doing, and keeping us from hurting one another, which they are also not doing. We have no rule of law and no border security. $3.5 trillion dollars a year in the federal budget and the government can’t do either of the tasks it is prescribed to do.

OK, back to the Bible study, we’ll tackle all of that another day.

Reason number two  is that I think the church spends enough time pointing out that particular sin. Yes, I Corinthians 6:9 very clearly points out that homosexuality is a sin; along with adultery, sexual immorality, stealing, greed, drunkenness, slander and swindling.

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” I Corinthians 6:9

So God puts living with your girlfriend and slander in the same category as gay marriage. In fact, Jesus says in Matthew 5 that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully in his heart is guilty of adultery. Any guys out there struggle with that one? The point is, we all struggle with something and all sin separates us from God. Romans 3:23 is very clear that everybody sins.

Back to today’s verse. The issue is not whether these people who got married on the float are sinners or not. That issue is settled, we’re all sinners. The issue is that they are shaking their fist at The Almighty God. They have declared that what God said doesn’t matter and they literally parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it.”

Well boys and girls. the message is clear. Whether your sin is homosexuality, sexual immorality, adultery (remember what Jesus calls adultery), greed or drunkenness, if you keep shaking your fist at God and calling him a liar by declaring what you are doing is not a sin, today’s verse says “Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.”

So what are we to do? Repent. Tell God you are sorry and ask him to help you quit doing the things that offend him. He is just waiting to forgive you and help you have victory over whatever you are struggling with.

If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed week and happy prepping!
