Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Merchandise
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.
2 Peter 2:1-3a
I know most of you are shocked that I didn’t have a picture of Joel Olsteen’s church today as an example for a verse that talks about false prophets that make merchandise of you. But, the fact of the matter is, self-proclaimed billionaire Kenneth Copeland has perhaps been more successful in merchandising religion than any other protestant minister.
Of course, his fortune is a mere pittance compared to the untold riches of the Vatican. Both have heaped up fortunes while spreading their damnable heresies. Pope Francis’ latest heresy is that you don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven. Copeland has both endorsed the heretical pope, and participated in services that bastardize the gifts of the Spirit through promoting disorder, chaos and what appears to be a demonic spirit of drunkenness.
Be careful that you are not being sold damnable heresies and be sure that your church leaders are not making merchandise of you. The only way you’ll have the discernment to make your way through these troubled end-times is by keeping a close personal connection to the Holy Spirit through Bible reading, prayer and personal worship.
Being in fellowship with other true believers is also very important. So, if you are in a bad church, get out now, but find a good church right away. And, don’t look for a perfect church, they don’t exist.

“You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven”
This creates a problem in that God has neither the Grace nor Mercy to get someone who CANNOT have heard the Gospel into heaven, e.g. our hemisphere before Columbus, but far more importantly an unborn baby. They don’t believe in God, and still retain Adam and Eve’s sin. Only 55 million, but even if you assume some grace for them, where were you the last 40+ years? Their killers are not in a bunker, generally don’t have arms to shoot back. I do not like Copeland, but have you checked your own eyes to insure there were no planks therein?
Tom, you took that completely out of context. The Pope’s statement covered atheist who had made a conscious decision to not believe, thereby rejecting the atoning blood.
