Sunday Prepper Bible Study- 1 Kings 13

The man of God said, “I cannot turn back and go with you, nor can I eat bread or drink water with you in this place.  I have been told by the word of the LORD: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water there or return by the way you came.’ “ The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the LORD: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (But he was lying to him.)  1 Kings 13:16-18

You really need to read the entire chapter of 1 Kings 13 to grasp today’s lesson. If you do, you’ll read that the man of God is killed by a lion, because he took some bad advice from the old prophet.

The prophet in the story advises the man of God to disregard what he has learned directly from God because the prophet has his own agenda. He wanted to hang out with the man of God. It doesn’t seem like such a terrible motive. I’m sure the prophet had a very good reputation. The man of God may have even looked up to the old prophet. Yet, he esteemed the words of the old prophet more highly than the word of the Lord. Big mistake! It cost him everything.

It is easy to look up to church leaders who have good reputations, especially those who are older and are seasoned in the faith. And they can even provide very valuable council, but in the end, no one can hear from God for you. You have to seek out his Word for you yourself. That can be accomplished though maintaining a regular relationship by dedicating time each day to get in the Bible and listen. When those really important decisions  or very perplexing situations come along you might have to take it to the next level and fast. Fasting turns down the noise of the flesh so you can hear the still small voice of God instructing you to take the right path.

YouTube Censorship of the Press-Content Removed from SGT Report Channel

YouTube, who is owned and operated by NSA shill, Google, is now censoring the alternative media. I just received a message from Sean over at SGT Report who has been on the Prepper Recon Podcast a couple of times and also whom I consider to be a personal friend. He informed me that YouTube, which gladly hosts pornographic imagery and foul language, has removed a video he uploaded which provided the missing section of footage from the recent Charlie Hebdo shooting. The footage merely showed that the police officer on the ground was not shot in the head. No mainstream media ever came forward to correct the repeated statements that said the officer was shot at that point. I’m embedding the footage from StormCloudsGathering which also provides the same footage as that which was removed from Sean’s site SGTReport.com. Watch it soon because it is likely to be taken down. Since we know that YouTube has such lose standards as to what they consider acceptable, the only question that remains is why?

Sunday Prepper Bible Study- 2 Samuel 12

but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. 2 Samuel 12:3

It has been more than three weeks since our precious little pet, Bessy Mae went home and I miss her so much. The pain is fading but the memories never will. I suppose there will always be a hole in my heart. If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know what I’m talking about. Because your pet was an animal rather than a person, you might find yourself wondering if God knows how you feel. I can assure you he does. Consider today’s verse and the context in which it is used. When God had to confront David about his sin, he sent Nathan the prophet with a parable of a man and his pet. Perhaps it was because David was a battle hardened warrior who’d killed countless people in war. When God needed to touch his heart, maybe He knew that no one is beyond understanding the pain of loosing a pet.

What ever the source of your pain is, know that God understands and He’s there to comfort you.
