Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Independence Day

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God” Dueteronomy 28:1-2

We were once a nation that sought to be independent from England. Free to worship God as we chose, free to govern ourselves and free to enjoy our God-given rights. God was merciful to us and granted us that independence. For almost two centuries, we honored God and followed his ways as a nation.

Our country is once again seeking independence. Only this time around, we are seeking our independence from God. Since the 1970’s, we have made several changes to accommodate the atheists in our schools and our courtrooms. Removing prayer and the bible from our schools not only appeased one woman who demanded her right to be independent from God, it has led to the moral decay of an entire society. It is certainly nice to be tolerant of other folks, but what has been the price for our tolerance. Look at the heights from which we have fallen. And I fear we have yet to hit bottom.

This independence day, assert your freedom to live in a country that obeys the voice of the LORD. We must hang on to the little we have left. We may have already ceded too much ground and soon find ourselves with no country at all.

I encourage everyone to check out Chris’ website, PeakProsperity.com He has some great guests and has a very good understanding of the challenges we will be facing in the near future. Chris is a little left leaning. No, not Mother Jones, MSNBC left leaning; give me a little credit. You have to understand, by my definition, “left leaning” even covers most everyone on FOX News.  That being said, when you find someone with some good ideas that don’t line up perfectly with your ideology, eat the grapes and spit out the seeds.

Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Hebrews 7:22

“Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.” Hebrews 7:22

God provided the law as a means for the Israelites to draw near to him. It was a set of rules and regulations for holy living. It prescribed a hard and fast list of dos and don’ts as well as mandated sacrifices for when they messed up. Man was unable to live up to God’s standard. Otherwise, that system would have worked just fine. Since it didn’t, Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice and introduce a new system where we could be justified outside of the law. Hebrews 7:12 says “when there is a change in the priesthood, there must be a change in the law.” Jesus is the new High Priest. His perfect sacrifice took care of all of our shortcomings and became the guarantee of a better covenant. Is this new covenant without rules and regulations? Not exactly, God still has a high expectation of us for holy living, but Jesus has already made the perfect sacrifice for when we fall short.

Tonight’s movie is Police State 4 by Alex Jones and covers the growing police state. I understand that some folks have a hard time listening to Alex because of his delivery methods. However, the man has been consistently right about the trend of tyrany in America for the past decade. Even if you’re not a fan of Alex Jones, there is a lot to be learned from his movies. They are very well produced and contain a lot of good information.
