Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Why Believe in the Resurection?

“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.”

John 20:1-8

Verse eight of today’s Bible study tells us that John saw and believed. We weren’t there, so the skeptics among us might ask why we should believe.

If you ask God to show Himself to you, I can promise He will. If you seek Him, I promise you will find Him.

“That’s great,” the skeptic might say, “but where is the hard evidence?” There is always going to be an element of faith, but I can give you some pretty solid circumstantial proof. I think the strongest proof is the action of his disciples. These men go from cowering in fear behind locked doors before they learn that Christ has risen, to martyrdom because they won’t give up this story about a man who rose from the dead. While many of us might be willing to die for the truth, how many would die the types of deaths that the disciples suffered over a lie? All of the remaining 11 disciples except John were killed for their faith. John was boiled in oil, but lived to be exiled on the Isle of Patmos.

Friday Night at the Movies- The Passion of the Christ

Tonight’s movie is The Passion of The Christ. God bought our ticket to heaven, because none of us could afford the price of admission. I’m very thankful for that. It’s impossible to be truly grateful unless we know what a high price it was. I doubt we’ll ever fully understand what Jesus had to go through to pay our penalty for sin, but tonight’s show gives us a glimpse of the pain and suffering He was willing to endure so we could spend eternity with him.

Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Luke 21:20-21

“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.”

-Luke 21:20-21

Jesus hands out some pretty solid advice in today’s verse. Not only did it prove to be wise counsel when Jerusalem was sacked in 70 AD, it is always going to be better to not be in a major metropolitan area when wars break out or tough times come around. One of the main reasons it’s better to be in the mountains or the countryside is because the cities are targets because of the high concentration of people. They are easier to quarantine and control because of the limited geographical area to cover. If the objective of the invading force is to terminate life, everyone is corralled into a single kill zone in the city. In other types of disasters, cities become battlegrounds for limited resources. If you live inside of a city, make sure you consider today’s verse and come up with a good bug out plan.

Tonight’s movie is just in time for tax season! Arron Russo explores the legality of the income tax and points out several cases where courts have ruled in favor of non-taxpayers. Wherever you stand on the income tax debate, it is very healthy to examine what your government is doing and hear what the opposition has to say. if I had my wish, we’d repeal the Sixteenth Amendment and put the entire matter to rest. Are We on the Precipice of Boston Massacre 2.0?

If you are not aware of the Cliven Bundy fight going on in Nevada right now, it deserves your attention. Essentially, the Bureau of Land Management, a Federal Agency has once again overstepped their Constitutional jurisdiction and are attempting to dictate to the states and citizens of states how they must live their lives. This dispute is over Cliven Bundy’s right to graze his cattle on public land. He has established rights through beneficial use, rights he has purchased and rights recorded with the state of Nevada. Where in the Constitution is the Federal Government granted rights to possess land in sovereign states?

The link below will take you to a video of protestors and BLM agents in a stand off. I did not embed the video due to the language used in the video which is not consistent with the content of PrepperRecon.com. Nevertheless, it is important to know what is happening as this is a similar situation that America saw on March 5th 1770 in Boston. A group of British soldiers fired on a group of protestors at the Boston Customs House and the event became a major flash point in the American Revolutionary War.
