Proverbs 21:20 Sunday Prepper Bible Study
“In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.”
We have used this verse before in our Sunday Prepper Bible study, but evidently there are still a few people who didn’t get it last time. I live in South Florida, and every year, I see people scrambling at the store when we get in the prediction cone of a hurricane. Despite the fact that the local media urges people to get prepared at the beginning of hurricane season, people wait. Some wait too long and are not able to get the supplies they need.
Last year, we saw individuals on the North East Coast get slammed by Hurricane Sandy. Despite the fact that they had been told to leave several times by authorities, many stayed. Those who stayed were warned to prepare to go without basic services and stock up on supplies. Many also did not heed that advice.
Choosing to get prepared is not a lack of faith. It is exercising your faith. It means you are taking God at his Word and deciding to follow the recommendations of the Bible by storing up provisions. You are proving that you are what today’s verse would consider “wise’ as opposed to a “foolish man”.
If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.
Have a blessed week and happy prepping!
