Proverbs 26:17- Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Minding Our Own Business

“Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears  is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.” Proverbs 26:17

The US government has demonstrated its lack of ability to mind its own business in the past few weeks. The DOJ has been caught tapping the phones and hacking the e-mails of journalists. This undermines the very nature of our freedom. Without a free press, no society can consider itself free.

The IRS has been caught targeting groups with views different than those of the administration. These are the tactics of a totalitarian regime, not a republic.

This week, we learned that the NSA is collecting data on all of us. All of our e-mails, Facebook posts, and phone calls are being watched. We have crossed the line. We are no longer free.

Despite the hypocrisy, the US government has now launched another military exercise to promote freedom in Syria. Once again, our blood and treasure are being thrust in to a quarrel not our own. While we drown in debt, we will be supporting the rebels in Syria who are linked to Al Qaeda. We had a similar mission in the 1980’s where we supported rebel forces in Afghanistan. We helped to train and arm a young leader named  Osama Bin Laden. Like one who grabbed a stray dog by the ears, we were bitten from this involvement.

This weeks announcement has proven that we have not learned our lesson. We will continue to borrow money to arm our enemies. The Assad regime is no ally, but he represents a far smaller threat to the US than Al Qaeda. All this on the name of freedom while our freedom is stripped away. We sacrifice our young men and women in wars while we are treated like criminals here in our own country every time we get on a plane, send an e-mail, post to Facebook or make a phone call. Each and every one of us are being conditioned to accept the police state.

We must elect leaders that will adhere to God’s Word and to the Constitution. We must pray for the people of America to have the discernment to see through the lies that we are told to get involved in quarrels not our own. If it were truly freedom we were concerned with, we would have liberated the people of North Korea long ago. Unfortunately for them, they are not strategically located over an oil field. So we continue to “free” the people in areas that affect our interest even when they have no desire for our brand of freedom.

Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die!
