Remaining In The Vine- Sunday Prepper Bible Study
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
As Christians, we feel it is our duty to be nice, to be patient, to not get disturbed when the markets are shaken and to stay cool when we lose our job. Guess what, it’s not our job. No, that doesn’t mean you can act like a jerk every time things don’t go your way. It means that if you want to be patient, kind and full of peace, you have to dedicate time to be with Jesus. By abiding in the vine, the branch gets its life giving nutrients that allow it to bear fruit.
If you are just going to church on Sunday, you are not likely to be very fruitful. You have to spend some part of each day with the Vine. I try to dedicate my first few minutes in the morning to praying. I then try to play a few worship songs as i stretch out and begin my day. As i have my breakfast,
I try to read a couple of chapters in The Bible. When I am not consistent with these disciplines, or do it with a half hearted effort, my fruit suffers. My kindness goes out the window, I have no peace and I am not very kind. I cannot will myself to produce these atributes, but when I make a priority out of being with Jesus, they just happen naturally. We are likely to see many dark days ahead. We will need that peace that can only come from remaining in the Vine.
If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.
Have a blessed week and happy prepping!
