Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Amos Warns of Destruction

sunset on the ground dried by dryness

“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord,“when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.” Amos 8:11

Amos was an old testament prophet who tried to warn the leadership of the coming judgement. GOD spoke through him to tell the political and religious leaders what was coming their way. In Amos chapter 7, the head priest, Amaziah accuses Amos of starting a conspiracy against the king. He then tells Amos to get lost. He informs Amos that they are not interested in hearing his warnings anymore and he should find some other place to prophesy.

At some point, GOD will quit pleading with a nation to do the right thing. If the inhabitants of the land  have no interest in what GOD has to say, he will leave them alone. Once that nation gets GOD to leave them alone, they will be free to live their lives they way they see fit, but they should not expect his help in their hour of need. In America, the liberal left echoes the pleas of Amaziah to be left alone. The GOD fearing among us must be sure our voices are heard over them.

If you are new to prepping or would like to learn more about how to prepare for tomorrow, please read our 7 Step Preparedness Plan. The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed week and happy prepping!
