Sunday Prepper Bible Study- Mind Your Own Business
“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands…” I Thessalonians 4:11
The Bible is full of verses that would be absolutely transformational if they were to be followed and obeyed by our leaders. Today’s verse is a perfect example. Could you imagine if our leaders took this verse to heart? If Washington actually minded their own business, you wouldn’t even recognize this country. We wouldn’t have military bases in over 100 different countries which would probably mean we would be ticking off a lot less terrorists, which might actually mean we wouldn’t have to take our shoes off at the airport. And that’s just one of many foreign policy implications. Think what that would mean for liberty right here at home. If the Federal Government minded its own business and left things up to the states, farmers in the northwest wouldn’t be imprisoned for selling raw milk, Communist Core… I mean Common Core wouldn’t be forcing our schools to teach evolution and history that glosses over the American Revolution.
What about the work with your hands part? Could you imagine if Washington minded their own business and got out of the business of welfare and left that to the churches? The welfare class would be non existent, because churches would help folks find a path to providing for themselves and working with their hands.
Well, enough dreaming of utopia. We can at least apply this verse to our own lives and enjoy the blessings that come from following the wisdom of God’s Word.
