Personal Prepping- Psychiatric Drugs
Psychiatric Drugs are used by approximately 49 million Americans. That is about 15% of the total population. Because of the wide use of psychiatric drugs, it is a very sensitive subject. Unfortunately, our society has become increasingly depressed and filled with anxiety. This is a direct effect of not maintaining a close relationship with our Creator. Those who have suffered from these emotional disorders look to medical science for relief. As evidenced by the number of Americans on psychiatric drugs, doctors are quick to write prescriptions that provide relief. The question we have to ask ourselves is at what cost.
Dr. Peter Breggin recently gave a psychiatrist’s explanation of the consequences of taking psychiatric drugs on the Lew Rockwell Show. The show title was Prozacked Nation. Please listen to the show if you have time. It is also available for download.
Dr. Bregggin led the charge against partial lobotomies in the late 60’s. He now refers to psychiatric drugs as “chemical lobotomies”. Among the know side effects of psychiatric drugs are suicidal tendencies and a detachment from reality. Several perpetrators of violent gun crimes in recent years had been taking these types of drugs.
The leading medical commentator for CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta comments on the likelihood of psychiatric drugs being involved in the Sandy Hook shooting in the video below.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN: approximately 1 minute
As Dr. Gupta explains, a particularly critical time for patients taking these drugs is when they first start or when they are coming off the drug. If we were to experience a grid down level collapse in America where these types of drugs became hard to obtain or unavailable, the repercussions would be devastating. The effects would be terrible for those who were on the drugs as they would be facing withdraw. They would also be dealing with withdraw at an extremely stressful period of history. Many of them who have no family support systems to care for them emotionally would likely become violent and possibly homicidal/ suicidal as we have seen in recent attacks.
If you are on antidepressants or psychiatric drugs, think about talking to your doctor about slowly ending your dependancy. If you are not on antidepressants and thinking about it, please don’t start. Speaking as someone who has dealt with this issue personally, I can tell you there is no better cure to depression and anxiety than the Word of God.
“ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22 Did you notice the fruit of the spirit is joy and peace? That is the opposite of depression and anxiety. Also it is “fruit” of the spirit. The only way you can reap corn is by sowing corn. You wouldn’t expect to pick oranges after planting an apple tree, so don’t expect to reap joy and peace after living a life that is totally against everything God stands for. The first step is to ask God for help. God is real and wants to help you. Next, wash your mind with the Bible. I read it every morning and listen to Bible studies on my mp3 player several times a week. You also have to watch what you you are putting in your brain. Are you watching horror movies, then can’t figure out why you are afraid all of the time? The next step is to live according to the new information you are getting. When we live the type of life God wants us to live, we will be blessed with peace and joy. My anxiety is completely gone and I no longer suffer from depression. It worked for me and it will work for you or anyone else.
Happy Prepping!
