We are so fortunate to have the government here to make every decision for us. What has happened to our country that we have become so desensitized to the massive intrusion into our lives? It has seeped into every crevice of our existence. New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg outlawed the delivery of 2 liter sodas with pizza last week. What have we become? Will we allow a politician to tell us our limits of sweets?

What saddens me even more is that this level of intervention doesn’t stop in the land of the liberal left. It is tolerated in the heart of America. The Mayor of Gunthersville Alabama is seeking a city ordinance that will allow them to disarm their citizenry in a disaster. This is the time a citizen most needs his ability to defend himself. I’ll let the video finish this segment.

 Big Brother is watching out for you.

With our best interest at heart, big brother is coaxing us ever further into complacency. We are told what light bulb to buy. We are told how many bullets we can have in our guns. We are told how big our soda cans can be. My city no longer thinks a battery operated smoke alarm will suffice. To keep from having our buildings condemned, fire alarms have to be hard wired. Additional breaks in the wires increase the likelihood of an electrical fire in the first place. Common sense is thrown out the window. A food vendor in Florida can not produce food for sale in his home despite the fact you will rarely see the sights of rats and roaches in a person’s home that you see in a filthy restaurant. How much further shall we allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking we are the criminals?

There are many man-made and natural disasters that can lead to you having to evacuate your home. If this happens, you need to be prepared with an evacuation plan to ensure that your entire family is evacuated safely. It’s also wise to know basic survival measures to take to stay safe while you’re out of your home, especially if you have to remain outside. That’s why we’ve put together a basic survival guide to help you prepare for home evacuation emergencies.

5 Basic Evacuation Preparedness Tips

  1. Make any necessary provisions for your pets and animals to ensure their safety. You also want to make sure you have enough food and water for them during the emergency.
  2. Pack all of your necessities in an easily accessible place. Your packed bag should include enough food, water and necessities to last at least seven days.
  3. Prepare your home for an emergency by having a plan of action for shutting off utilities. If not, your home could become a victim of an electrical fire, gas leak or water flood.
  4. Pack all of your important documents in one place, with your other emergency supplies.
  5. Keep you vehicle gassed up and ready to go at all times.

Tips for Keeping Safe While Outside

If you have to evacuate your home during an emergency, there’s no guarantee you’ll find shelter immediately. Things around you will be very chaotic, causing many people to panic, especially during bad weather. You need to be prepared to survive the struggles of being outdoors until you can find shelter for you and your family. Here are three tips you can follow to help you with this. Add these to your survival guide evacuation plan:

Hypothermia

If you’re evacuated during a snow storm or other freezing weather conditions, hypothermia needs to be a major concern. The best way to avoid hypothermia is to exercise. Hypothermia causes your blood vessels to constrict. This reduces the amount of warm blood supplied to your skin, keeping your internal organs warm. So, no matter how tired you get, you need to keep moving to keep your blood flowing.

Lightning

During a massive storm, lightning can strike, causing another natural disaster to be weary of while outside. About 600 people get struck by lightning each year, killing about 60 annually. To stay safe, stay far away from tall objects that could fall on you. You also want to stay clear of metal objects that could harm you as well. If things get really scary, squat down with only the balls of your feet touching the ground. Keep your eyes and ears covered to minimize the frightening sounds and light.

Major Wounds

If you or someone in your family gets a major wound during the crisis, you can apply temporary treatment measures until help arrives. Simply apply direct pressure to the wound by holding your hand down on it. Elevate the injured area above the person’s heart in order to slow down the flow of blood. If the wound continues to bleed after 30 minutes, use clothing to wrap it in a pressure dressing. Don’t make the mistake of removing the dressing to inspect the wound. Just leave it there and wait for help.

 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Luke 21:25-26

The Bible gives some pretty dire warnings about what our planet will face when this present age nears its end. Perhaps the two most famous chapters of scripture where Jesus himself spoke about these events are Luke 21 and Matthew 24. In those scriptures, Jesus is giving a response to his followers.  Matthew 24:3  reads “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus gives a thorough answer which includes “the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.” Matthew 24:29.

We just had a very serious near miss by 2012DA14, a 150 ft asteroid that came between the earth and the orbit of our weather satellites. It was estimated that the collision missed by 15 minutes. Had the asteroid arrived in its path 15 minutes later than it did, the effects would have been devastating.

On the same day, we had another meteor collide with the earth in Russia. It injured more that 1,200 people, mostly from broken glass. The impact sent shock waves for miles around. It was estimated to be  about 55 ft when it entered the atmosphere, about a third of the size of 2012DA14.  Below is a compilation of video from the recent meteor impact in Russia.

Speaking of the atmospheric disturbances, Jesus says in Mathew 24:8 “All these are the beginning of birth pains.” I am sure you ladies out there can tell us that birth pains start out light and somewhat far apart and gradually grows in frequency and intensity. I think that if we continue to see this type of activity grow in frequency and intensity, we could expect to see the return of our King very soon!

Once the icon of empire, Detroit was the automotive industry capital of the world. The city now exists on life support. Once a mecca for commerce, it is now synonymous with crime and murder. The Governor of Michigan is considering sending in a financial emergency manager to take over the city. Last year, Detroit’s fiscal deficit neared $1billion. The city’s long term liabilities include more than $14 billion in underfunded pensions. We are seeing more and more cities choose bankruptcy as an alternative to escape looming pension shortfalls.

Enter at Your Own risk

Detroit police issued statements last October warning tourists that Detroit was considered unsafe to visit. They claim the city is in a war-like state and is the most violent city in America. Detroit police whose number have shrank by more than 1000 officers over the past 10 years have told visitors to enter at their own risk.

Detroit’s political choices are in direct correlation with her level of financial failure. In the November election, Obama received 98% of the city’s votes. It is absolutely no coincidence that the cities in America suffering the highest degrees of blight subscribe to the gravy train policies of the left. The something for nothing mentality plagues once prosperous cities all around our country.

State Trends

Unfortunately, it does not end at the municipal level. This diseased thinking has permeated liberal states as well. We see several examples of extreme left states like Illinois and California facing severe financial crisis despite disproportionately high tax rates. We still have bastions of freedom like Texas who are running budget surpluses despite collecting no state income tax. Yet the liberal states quickly dismiss the facts and cling to their failed ideology.

America’s Path

We have excellent examples of what happens when you tax the citizens of your state and let the government decide how the money will be spent. We have examples of how people will invest their money if you let them keep it. It seems common sense would dictate that we would choose the path of prosperity. Common sense has a decreasing role in the decision making process. The liberal politicians in power achieved that power by promising the fruits of other workers labor to the welfare class.

Our country has chosen this path. Detroit acts as a road map to show us the destination of this path. We should expect the same outcome on a national level as we are making the same choices that Detroit has made.

There has been an uptick in military maneuvers in large cities around America. The tin foil hat folks don’t need anymore ammo for their various theories. Until recently, they have only been theories because there hasn’t been significant evidence to prove them. There have been several main stream media accounts of black helicopters performing military training over major metropolitan cities all over the country in recent months. One of the most recent accounts was right here in South Florida. The video from my local news station below shows a training operation in Miami.

As the reporter stated, they were firing blanks. The reporter stated the military and local law enforcement were training together for overseas missions. Raise your hand if that makes sense to you. Why would local law enforcement be training for an overseas mission? Next is a fleet of Blackhawk helicopters flying over St Paul Minnesota. Maybe their local law enforcement are also going over seas.

Fortunately, we have The Posses Comitatus Act that prevents the Military from acting as law enforcement in American cities. Right? There have also been reports of similar exercises in Houston and Galveston Texas. These reports add fuel to the fire of speculators who wonder about huge ammunition purchases by Homeland Security. Fox News recently reported the agency is seeking to purchase another 1.6 billion rounds of ammo. That comes out to 5 rounds per US Citizen that the domestic enforcement agency would add to their stockpile. Remember, if you see something say something!

The Carnival Triumph finally made it to land after being dead in the water for 5 long days. The 4,000 passengers that had hoped to leave their worries behind learned a new appreciation for their mundane lives at home. A fire on board the ship brought electrical capacities to a standstill. The lack of electricity in turn disabled the plumbing pumps. Passengers were left without any comforts. There was no air-conditioning, no cold storage for food, no means of cooking the food that was quickly spoiling without refrigeration and sewage pumps were completely out of service. Passengers were forced to relieve themselves in red  bio-hazard bags while feces and urine backed up and flooded the ship.

Many of the passengers made a tent city on the deck of the ship out of bed sheets. This allowed them to be in the open air to escape the putrid smells of human waste. Carnival announced that the passengers would receive a full refund as well as $500 compensation and discounts on future trips. That comes out to $100 a day for living in a rancid floating toilet, wading through the human excrement of 4,000 people to get in a 3 hour line to get an onion sandwich. Or $4.16 an hour for a living nightmare where people were fighting over food. I suppose the passengers should be grateful, that is nearly 4 times what Carnival pays their Filipino and Indian workforce. According to Corpwatch, they earn approximately $1.20 per hour.

What lessons can we learn?

Besides the lesson that things can get really bad, really quick when you are among a large crowd, we learned how interconnected systems of support truly are. A ship is essentially a floating city. All cities require electricity to keep running. Once the electricity goes out, all the other systems begin to shut down. The ability to keep fresh foods from spoiling goes away. Water and sewage pumps have back up generators in most cities, but they can only function for a certain amount of time on back up before they too go down. Cruise ships have proven to be one of the worst place to be when things go wrong. The isolation and complete dependency on the ship leaves no chance for alternative methods of coping with situations when they arise. Besides being susceptible to fires and sinking, they are the perfect environment for air borne disease to spread through out the community on board.

There is a larger lesson here as well. Part of what makes a ship so dangerous is the total dependency on the ship. Likewise, our cities have grown closer and closer to total dependency on the electrical grid. Taking steps to reduce your dependency on the systems of support will greatly mitigate the effect of a catastrophe that eliminates or damages those systems. It is also a clarion call to resist the trend to depend on the government to provide our every need from the cradle to the grave. The more independent we are, the better we will fare if the USS Government ever sinks.

Ali Velshi of CNN’s “Your Money” has been speaking of an economic renaissance. He has sited that housing  seems to have bottomed and that the stock market is approaching an all time high. I am a little bit more skeptical than Ali. Last week we had two very bad economic indicators. The first was the jobs numbers for January. Unemployment ticked back towards 8%. The already sugar coated U3 number came in at 7.9%. This number, of course, doesn’t count people who have quit looking for work or are working part time because they cannot find full time employment. The number that includes those individuals is called U6 and is currently at 14.4%. As bad as that news is, the next is still worse. The fourth quarter GDP for 2012 was negative .1%. Even with the historically low interest rates, we had negative GDP. Even with the Federal reserve devaluing our currency at the rate of $85 billion per month or $1.02 trillion annually, we had negative GDP growth. What, pray tell, do you think GDP would have been without the intervening monetary stimulus? Simple math would suggest that if we subtract the $1.02 trillion of current stimulus from last year’s GDP of $15.8 trillion, we would have negative 7% GDP! But, even with all of the market intervention, we find ourselves one quarter of negative GDP from a new recession.

Credit Supernova

I wish I could say that summed up the bad news for the day. Bill Gross, Pimco’s CEO and the largest bond manger in the world, said in the  company website that we are facing a “Credit Supernova”. You don’t have to be an astrophysicist to know that equating an imploding star with the bond market is not a sign of confidence. In fact, Mr. gross said fractional reserve banking, which is the foundation of our current financial system, is at risk. he went on to say that we should position ourselves for slow growth, continued quantitative easing, zero percent interest rates and inevitable inflation. He recommended purchasing real assets. Bill Gross said ” buy something you can sink your teeth into – gold, other commodities, anything that can’t be reproduced as fast as credit.” This is the equivalent of the CEO of Coke telling people to drink Pepsi. In other words, he thinks it is about to hit the fan.

Speaking of something you can sink your teeth into, shelf stable food has turned out to be a great investment over the last year. By simply buying a little extra food on each trip to the grocery, you can hedge against a loss of availability due to unforeseen economic crisis,  weather or civil unrest. Additionally, inflation all but guarantees a gain on your investment of storable food.  I also like Bill Gross’ recommendation to purchase gold. I like silver as well because of the smaller denomination of wealth that it represents. Rumors of War- Sunday Prepper Bible Study

” You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Matthew 24:6-8

The headlines have been filled with wars and rumors of wars which were stated by Jesus to be a sign of the beginning of The End. This past week we saw headlines that told of another US Embassy attack; this time, in Turkey. We also saw a video produced by Kim Jong Un that depicted a nuclear missile launched by North Korea destroying American cities. The quality of the video was horrific and the music was a joke.Here is the video, I hope you laugh as hard as I did.

The video features what sounds like an $89 synthesizer playing Michael Jackson’s “We are the World”. Almost any other Michael Jackson song would have been a better choice. I think I would have went with “Bad”. We had hoped that Kim Jong Un would have been a bit more sensible than his father, but it seems he has raised the lunacy factor by 10.

Iran is Already a Nuclear Power

Iranian President Ahmadinejad announced this week that Iran already has nuclear capabilities. He added that they would not use those capabilities against Israel. Being the trustworthy nut-job that he is, I am sure we can just take his word for it. In reality, you can flip a coin as to if either or both of those statements contain any truth at all.

America has a lot of enemies. No one knows for sure what their true capabilities are. They have found weaknesses in our walls in the past and they will most likely find them in the future. While Iran and North Korea boast about nuclear capabilities, American missile defenses systems are very advanced. Of course, a nuclear war head could bypass our defense systems and be detonated from space. This would issue a crippling blow to our country’s infrastructure as it would generate a devastating EMP. Depending on the size of the war head, it could fry all electronic circuits in the lower 48. The best we can do is pray and prepare.

States Assert Constitutional Authority

Not since 1861 has there been such a wide spread disagreement about the authority of the Federal Government among the states. In the past few months, states have been standing up to Washington. After all, doesn’t Washington serve at the pleasure of the inhabitants of those states? Doesn’t the constitution grant certain rights to the states?

Virginia Considers State Currency

Article 1, Section 10 of the US Constitution says: “No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit; make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts” Virginia is now considering a bill that would appropriate funds to study the possibility of  producing it’s own gold or precious metals backed currency. The move to return to a gold or bi-metal standard in the state is a proactive measure to prepare for a collapse of the US dollar. This is not Alex Jones talking about the collapse of the dollar, this is the Sate of Virginia. If they are taking precautionary measures, perhaps you should too. A practical way to prepare is to become your own central bank and keep a portion of your cash reserves in gold and silver. Wyoming Stands Up for 2nd Amendment

Wyoming has initiated a bill that would make it illegal for any federal agent to enforce a federal firearms ban with in the states boarders. Any federal agent caught enforcing federal firearms bans in Wyoming would be subject to arrest and imprisonment if the bill becomes a law. Wyoming has decided to defend the second amendment at all costs. The Second Amendment reads: “A well regulated militia, being necessary tot the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Several county sheriffs from various states have also stood up to Washington and declared that they would not enforce such an infringement on the Second Amendment.

States Seek to Nullify NDAA 2012 Indefinite Detention

Texas, Michigan and Oklahoma are among the state that have proposed bills to nullify the provision of the 2012 NDAA that allows the government to indefinitely detain Americans. The provision allowing the indefinite detention of  US citizens directly opposes the 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th amendments.

States Pass Laws in Contrast to Federal Laws

While I am not a proponent of legalizing marijuana for recreational use, I do believe that it is a matter to be decided by the states and I do recognize the rights of  Colorado and Washington to make that choice for themselves. The 10th Amendment says: “Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled”

While freedom has suffered some dramatic blows over the past few years, there is still a love for her in the hearts of a few Americans. Since the birth of our country, the hour has not been so dire. Now is the time to stand up for what you believe. Write your Senators and Congressmen and get involved in state politics. Make sure that your voice is heard.  Freedom is slipping away, but all is not yet lost. A growing number of economist are willing to admit that the dollar is on life support and the life support is running on back up power. Among those is John Williams. He is the creator of Shadowstats.com. Shadowstats.com tracks economic data collected and reported by the US government, then corrects the manipulation and reports the numbers to more closely reflect reality. In this recent interview with Greg Hunter of  USAwatchdog.com, John Williams said the real  federal deficit for 2012 was closer to $6.9 trillion dollars as opposed to the $1.1 trillion that has been reported. Shadow Stats uses GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Guidelines) that would, by law, have to be used by any corporation in America to arrive at the $6.9 trillion number. This number includes unfunded Social Security and Medicare liabilities that were taken on in the past year with no means of paying those liabilities. His full Special Report on Hyperinflation 2012 is available to read on line. As Mr. Williams points out, the only way to pay for the continued deficit spending is by new money creation. As we continually add more money to the supply, it competes for the same amount of goods and services. This is inflation. John Williams expects this inflation to begin to show up as dramatic price increase within the next 4 months. He expects that we will see Hyper inflation by the beginning of 2014.

Germany Wants Gold Being Held by The Federal Reserve

Another sign of the demise of the dollar is the recent news that Germany is seeking to repatriate the German gold being held by America. The Germans are seeing the crack in the veneer of the reserve currency of the world. They have requested that more than 600 tons of gold be returned to Germany. The US response was that the gold would be returned by 2020. This has sparked speculation as to whether or not the gold is actually where it is supposed to be. The gold should be available to be returned with in months of a request rather than the 7 year time frame that was given. This has also been a cause for concern to other nations that keep gold on deposit in America. If it turns out that there has been misappropriation of the gold by America, the gold will have to be repurchased. This would drive up precious metals to new highs.
